What's a soulmate?

It’s like a best friend but more. 
It’s the one person in the world who knows you better than anyone else. 
That someone who makes you a better person. 
No, actually they don’t make you a better person. 
You do that by yourself because they inspire you. 
A soul mate is someone you carry with you forever. 
It’s one person who knew you, accepted you and believed in you before anyone else did or when no one else would. 
And no matter what happens, 
you’ll always love them and nothing could ever change that.

Merlin knew this country. The winding roads, the steep and curving hills, the holes in the ground and the trees and forests passing by. Hundreds of men and women travelled with him across the lands; all equally polite, warm-hearted and kind. All but Arthur Pendragon. Complaining about the velvet cushions inside the carriage being too hard, the pace of the horses being too slow and even the state of the two front wheels. Every travel from the Pendragon Estate to the city felt like an eternity and Arthur usually dismissed Merlin the moment they arrived at the estate. But on one day Merlin realised why he kept coming back to the massive country house and back to the young, arrogant, supercilious, Arthur Pendragon. Because on that day, after returning from the city and planning to travel back through an impending storm, Arthur walked into the stables, shuffled his feet through the hay and opened his heart for just a moment;

“Surely it would not be wise to ride with this weather? Your carriage will be blown away by even the slighest touch of wind. I could provide some shelter for the night. And if you want, you can leave tomorrow.”
“Sir, you want me to stay?”
“I- I want you- I would like for you to stay. Yes.”
